David Pye, owner and operator of Pye Metallurgical Consulting, has just on fifty years years of experience in metallurgical processing. His experience includes  twenty two years in captive and commercial heat treatments and metallurgical laboratories. He also has seventeen years experience in furnace sales as well as research and development including nitriding carburizing technology. He has authored several books and has been published in many technical publications related to the field of metallurgy. The second edition of The Heat Treatment Handbook has now been published in two volumes. He have two chapters in each volume on the subjects of furnace engineering and nitriding. He also writes for the Metal Treating Institute and is the MTI technical consultant. He also writes for The Moldmaker magazine. He has produced numerous heat treatment training video's for ASM and produced almost forty, one hour online training programs for the Metal Treating Institute. The range of topics include carburizing, nitriding, tool steel heat treatment furnace maintenance and many other heat treatment subjects.
